Coalition for Stronger Communities (CSC), Inc., invite you to this year’s Annual Signature Event: “The MASQ.”   This event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center, College Park, MD.  It promises to be an enjoyable evening full of mystique, with entertainment, and vendors.

 

The Signature Event is FWAC’s largest fundraiser.  All proceeds are used to support our community development and scholarship programs that positively impact the lives of those in our service communities of Southern Prince George’s County and Charles County, Maryland.

 

This year’s theme is a masquerade ball.  Each guest will enjoy an evening of glamor, masks, good food, and great entertainment. Hosting the event will be Kesha Monk, who is a radio personality and a voiceover artist. She has lent her voice to the likes of McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Spotify, Soul Train Music Awards, and many others.  Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Mase with a live performance by Shadz of Soul.  Shadz of Soul is a female R&B group consisting of Washington Metro area’s finest vocalists. Shadz of Soul captivates audiences with their soulful but smooth renditions of the classics, guaranteed to leave you wanting more.

2023 Signature Event - “Créme de la Rouge”

The 2022-2023 Signature Event is Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter’s major fundraiser where proceeds go to support our community development programs and scholarships in Southern Prince George’s County and Charles County.  These include a multitude of activities for youth, senior citizens, physical & mental health awareness, social action and scholarship awards.  In fact, since its chartering in 1990, DST-FWAC has awarded over $316,000 in academic scholarships. This year’s event will be an afternoon to remember and an opportunity to support the community. 

Although the theme remains the same in mirroring the Diner en Blanc experience, we promise an enhanced evening of elegance and glamour. Over the course of the evening, guests will experience the beauty of fellowship and music in a truly magical event.  Guests dressed in white with a splash of red will dine at a table for two. Guests are required to provide their own food and table setup. Entertainment for the evening will be from the legendary band Let It Flow, an R&B/Neo-Soul ensemble consisting of some of the Washington Metro area’s finest musicians and vocalists. Let It Flow captivates audiences with a stirring mix of contemporary jazz, neo-soul, R&B, and Hop-Hop sprinkled with a few “old-school” classics. We will also be joined by well known Hype Man KyleOnTheMic, a multi-talented entertainment host and media personality from Maryland, who will capture your experience with his spunky personality, energy and ability to adapt to all crowds.
