It is with gratitude, humility, and a deep sense of purpose that I welcome you to the official website of the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (FWAC DST). I am honored and privileged to serve a second term as Chapter President and grateful for the opportunity to continue leading alongside an extraordinary sisterhood committed to service, scholarship, social action, and making a meaningful difference in our communities.

Since our chartering on April 28, 1990, the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter has proudly served Charles County and Southern Prince George’s County, Central Avenue, Route 214 and below. For more than 36 years, our chapter has built upon a rich legacy established by our Charter Members, responding to the evolving needs of our communities while remaining steadfast in the principles and ideals of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

As we begin this new biennium, we continue to move Forward with Purpose: United. Committed. Ready to Serve! We enter this next chapter with renewed energy and an even greater commitment to uniting our sisterhood, empowering our communities, and amplifying our impact.

Guided by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust—Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement—we remain focused on delivering relevant and impactful programs that address the needs of those we serve. We recognize that meaningful and sustainable change happens when we work together, leverage our collective strengths, and remain responsive to our community.

Partnership continues to be essential to our work. We welcome opportunities to collaborate with community organizations, elected officials, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders who share our commitment to strengthening our communities. Together, we can expand our reach, deepen our impact, and create lasting opportunities throughout Charles County and Southern Prince George’s (Central Avenue/Route 214 and below). And to my beloved Sorors, whether you have called FWAC home for decades, recently joined our chapter, or are searching for a chapter home, there is a place for you here. We welcome Sorors from every generation and walk of life with open arms and sisterly love. Our strength is found in the unique experiences, perspectives, talents, and gifts each Soror brings to our sisterhood.

As we look toward the future, we remain committed to cultivating an inclusive chapter where Sorors feel valued, connected, engaged, and empowered to lead and serve. We will continue investing in the next generation of leaders while honoring those whose vision, sacrifice, and service created the foundation upon which we stand today.

As Maya Angelou reminded us, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” May those who encounter FWAC DST, our Sorors, community partners, families, and those we serve, feel the power of our sisterhood and know that our service is rooted in purpose, compassion, and a genuine commitment to community.
