Welcome

Welcome

Greetings on behalf of the over 500 dedicated members of the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter, one of the dynamic gems of the Eastern Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  It is my esteem pleasure as the 9th President to welcome you to our official website.

Chartered on April 28, 1990, the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter (FWAC) has diligently served Southern Prince George’s (south of Central Avenue/Route 214) and Charles Counties in Maryland.  For the past 32 years, we have built a legacy of being For Women About Commitment, dedicated to the ideals of sisterhood, scholarship, and service.

We proudly implement programs that fall under the sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust of educational development, economic development, physical and mental health, international awareness and involvement, and political awareness and involvement.  These programs include Delta GEMS and Delta Academy mentoring programs for middle and high school young ladies, Financial Fortitude financial literacy seminars, Adopt-A-Road community outreach, Social Action voter registration drives, and so much more!

Community partnerships and collaborations are an integral key to the success of our service efforts. We are resolved in our mission to be agents of change and progress, and welcome new partnerships that align with our purpose.  If you are interested in working with us to uplift and improve our community, please contact us at president@dstfwac.org.

As President of the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter, I extend a warm welcome to all Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta and invite you to join us in “Mission Possible: Committed to Service. Connected in Sisterhood.”  Whether you are a Doll, Diva or Dear, there is a place for you at FWAC. Your gifts and talents are welcomed and are vital to ensuring we continue to deliver socially conscious programs and the steadfast leadership FWAC is known for throughout the Eastern Region.

Greetings on behalf of the dedicated members of the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter, one of the dynamic gems of the Eastern Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  It is my esteem pleasure as the 9th President to welcome you to our official website.

Our membership of over 400 women, is dedicated to the ideals of sisterhood, scholarship, and service.  Chartered on April 28, 1990, the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter (FWAC) has diligently served Southern Prince George’s (south of Central Avenue/Route 214) and Charles Counties in Maryland; and for over 30 years, we have built a legacy of being For Women About Commitment.

That commitment spans throughout our programs in the areas of educational and economic development, physical and mental health, international awareness, and social action initiatives, to include youth and seniors’ programs, and scholarship awards.  During this season of societal unrest, we are resolved in our mission to be agents of change and progress, building upon established community partnerships and welcoming new collaborations that align with our purpose.  If you are interested in working with us to uplift and improve our community, please contact us at president@dstfwac.org.
