International Awareness and Involvement

International Awareness and Involvement

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has a long history of involvement on the international stage, including the fight for human rights and development of infrastructure. The International Awareness and Involvement committee is charged with educating the chapter and the community on current and ongoing international issues. In the past this committee has made a donation to the Mary Help of the Sick Missions Hospital in Thika, Kenya, in support of the sorority’s national program. Other organizations that have benefited from FWAC donations are: Blood:Water Mission (Zambia), AIP Primary Boarding School for Girls in Kenya, Africa, and Stop Hunger Now/Rice Bowls, Inc. (India,Haiti, Rwanda). We are committed to making an impact on the quality of life for our brothers and sisters across the world. The committee partners with other FWAC committees and national organizations (i.e., PlanUsa.org or RiceBowls.org). The program revolves around raising awareness around a specific international cause (world hunger, child poverty, and clean water).
